Case study
Jak's Cafe
An outdated point of sale the staff worked around instead of using.
The problem
The existing till slowed service and gave the owner no usable view of the day. Staff had developed workarounds, which meant the recorded numbers and the real numbers had quietly separated.
What I did
- 01
Replaced the point of sale
A faster till the staff would actually use, rather than route around.
- 02
Added a preparation screen for the order queue
Orders visible by stage, so the counter and the back are looking at the same thing.
- 03
Centralised backend management
One place to maintain products, pricing, and reporting.
